UK regulations carry the same penalty regardless of company size. Most freight forwarders are still doing this in spreadsheets, browser tabs, and hope. TradeScreen works alongside your existing TMS — no replacement, no IT project.

Still running checks in a spreadsheet?

Every unlogged check is a gap in your audit trail. Every party without a logged screen is a gap you cannot show an auditor.

How screens work: One screen = one party name checked across all four lists simultaneously. A typical shipment uses 3 screens (shipper, consignee, notify party). 500 screens covers roughly 150 shipments/month.

Common questions

What compliance managers
ask before they sign up.

What is a screen?
One screen = one party name checked against all four lists simultaneously: UK FCDO/OFSI Consolidated Sanctions List, OFAC SDN (US Treasury), UN Security Council Consolidated List, and EU Financial Sanctions. A typical shipment has 3 parties (shipper, consignee, notify party), so uses 3 screens. Results show match, no match, or review — your team makes the final compliance decision.
What sanctions lists are included?
TradeScreen checks against four official lists simultaneously: UK FCDO/OFSI Consolidated Sanctions List, OFAC SDN (US Department of the Treasury), UN Security Council Consolidated List, and EU Financial Sanctions File. All four are checked on every single screen — there is no partial check option.
Who is TradeScreen for?
TradeScreen is built for UK SME freight forwarders and logistics operators who need a documented, auditable sanctions screening process. If you are handling shipments across international routes and need to screen parties against sanctions lists before shipment, TradeScreen is designed for you.
Is TradeScreen legal advice?
No. TradeScreen is a screening support tool only. It provides match and no-match results against sanctions databases — it does not provide legal advice, regulatory guidance, or OFSI/OFAC opinions. All screening outputs must be reviewed by a qualified compliance officer or legal counsel before any compliance determination is made.
What does the PDF audit report include?
The PDF audit report includes: a unique job reference number, your company name, the screening date and time (UTC), list version dates for all four lists, a row-by-row screening log (party name, type, result, matched entity if applicable, list source), and a disclaimer. It is designed to be shown to auditors, clients, or regulators as evidence of your screening process.
Can I show the audit report to my auditor or client?
Yes — that is exactly what it is for. The PDF audit report is a timestamped, branded record of your screening activity. A sample is available for download above so you can see the format before signing up.
How are the lists updated?
All four lists are refreshed on a regular schedule. Every screening result records the exact list version and date it was checked against, so your audit trail shows what data was live at the time of each screen — important for demonstrating due diligence.
How is my data handled?
Party names are processed ephemerally to run the screen — we do not retain the raw names you submit beyond what is needed for the audit metadata trail (timestamp, result, list version, user). No screening data is shared with or sold to third parties. You remain the data controller; TradeScreen acts as processor. A data processing agreement (DPA) is available on request. All processing occurs within the UK and EEA.
What happens if I go over my monthly screen limit?
You can purchase top-up blocks at £29 per 200 additional screens, or upgrade your plan. You will receive an alert at 80% usage so there are no surprises mid-month. Screens never expire within the month they are allocated.
How long does setup take?
Most customers are screening live the same day they sign up. No IT integration required at Starter or Pro — you access TradeScreen directly in your browser. API access and TMS integrations are on the Pro roadmap (coming soon).
